The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa flash floods 2025, triggered by extreme monsoon rains and cloudbursts in August 2025, have caused large-scale devastation across Buner, Shangla, Mansehra, Bajaur, Swat,

Battagram, and Lower Dir.

• 303+ confirmed deaths, with Buner alone reporting over 180 fatalities.
• Thousands displaced, missing loved ones, and forced to leave their homes.
• 74 homes and 562 buildings destroyed, including schools and vital infrastructure.
• Pakistan Army helicopter crash during rescue efforts killed 5 brave crew members.

This is one of the worst floods in Pakistan’s history, and immediate action is needed to save lives.

The Fast Rural Development Program (FRDP) has activated its emergency teams in Buner and Swat to provide life-saving assistance. Our one-month emergency relief plan focuses on the most urgent needs of flood survivors:

1- Cooked Food & Rations

• Hot meals for 5,000 people during the first week.
• One-month ration packs for families in areas where markets are destroyed.

2- Emergency Shelter & Dignity Kits

• Tents, tarps, ropes for displaced families.
• 4,000 blankets, sleeping mats, and 2,000 dignity kits for women and girls.

3- Safe Water & Hygiene Supplies

• Aqua tabs and jerrycans for 1,500 families.
• 20 makeshift latrines, 1,000 soap & hygiene kits, and menstrual hygiene materials to prevent disease outbreaks.

4- Health & Protection

• 15 Mobile Clinics for trauma care.
• Antibiotics, first-aid kits, ORS, vector control.
• Mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) for grieving families.
