Normal/Shallow Hand Pump
A Normal or Shallow Hand Pump is a practical water solution, particularly effective in Bairaji and plain areas, though less suited for desert regions. Installed with a 5×5-foot concrete apron, it serves around 3 to 6 families, depending on household size. The hand pump provides an easy and affordable way to access clean groundwater for drinking and domestic use, offering a vital source of water security for small rural communities.
Site Selection
Identify a suitable location in consultation with the community to ensure accessibility and adequate groundwater level.

Boring
Drill the borehole to reach the water source at the required depth.

Construction
Install the handpump structure, platform, and drainage to ensure durability and proper function.
Plaque Installation
Fix the project and donor information plaque at the site.

Handover to Community
Officially hand over the handpump to the local community for use.
